|

Hello,
(using RT 2.3c)
I want to posts these images to suggest that something has to be done if we want to use these features when we have red lights:
original image:
it is quite faithful
chroma NR 5:
reds turn to orange
luminance highlight recovery
whats happening with the reds?
color propagation highlight recovery
there is a hole in the image!
now is that normal?

Hello,
(still using RT 2.3c)
now I wonder whether no one took interest into that previous message maybe it was something stupid, but as it is close to this topic, I suggest something else:
Is it possible to retrieve overexposed image data before the exposure compensation is applied? In this way we would not lose the highlights like in this example here:
So applying positive exposure compensation means that the highlight recovery tool won't recover data that was previously there in the original non compensated image.
I know one way to avoid that is to selectively raise the shadows in the "Shadows/highlights" to avoid highlight clipping, but it's not that convenient, and I'm not sure the results are so clean (though I technically do not know how it is handled). |
