I have chanaged my photofinishing from Gimp to Adobe Photoshop 7.
I chanaged my Raw Therapee external editor from Gimp to Adobe Photoshop. But when I send my photo to the editor I get a error message which says '" Please set the corrct path in the perfernces dialog" .
What does that mean? My system is Windows XP. |

As it says, it means you have to set the correct path in the preferences, linking to the Photoshop7 .exe file in the photoshop program folder so that RT can execute Photoshop when you click on the button.
If you did, I must say I tried with PS6, and it did not work either, so it could be that your version is just too old to be supported? |

my problem is similar...
I hate gimp and only have photoshop elements. I want to use paint.net to edit pictures after raw process.
I see an option to add another editor, which I can select, but don't seem to be able to enter the right path name in the window where it saya "start"
any advice welcome |

There does seem to be a problem. Since there is no browse button to search for your editor (Paint Shop Pro is mine), I went to the shortcut I have for PSP, on the desktop, and asked for properties.
Then I copied the path and filename from that, and pasted into the "start" field...after I removed the "start"
But when I tried to send to Editor I was told it had failed and to enter the path.
The string is still there in the Preferences Dbox.

| RealOldnick, there is a browse button, it's just different. Click on "other" in the drop down list where you specify the path to your program. |

Does the string include an explicit reference to the .exe file, Nick?
C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2\Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo.exe is mine, and - note - it works in the latest Release Candidate.
It doesn't work in the previous beta, though - so Gabor has apparently addressed this in the latest release. _________________ Keith Reeder

Oooookay! I thought I had the latest.
Here is my path string"C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2\Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo.exe"
....hmmmm...that's interesting....it's back to "start" if I open RT.
I will grab the absolute latest (thought I had) and see what happens
.

Nick,
are you definitely saving your Preferences changes before OKing to come out of the dialog? _________________ Keith Reeder

Hello, and Hooray! - It now works for me too.
I have just updated to "release canditate" and for the first time ever have been able to send to editor via the following entry in preferences........
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop 7.0\Photoshop.exe
Thanks for making this possible - evolution is a wonderful thing

May I just add something to Keith's post......
For Nick -
Looking at your path string I notice "quotation marks" - are you entering those also? if so, delete them and try again.
Please let us know if this was beneficial.

I have the problem too with RC1
I provided the Phothoshop CS2 path and still it's not working.
I tried other command with the complete path to Photoshop.exe and still nothing.
Interesting is that I was able to start XnView (freeware image viewer).... |

| Oh, very intriquing, I was able to use this XnView once, but I can't repeat it, now I get the message to place correct path in preferences dialog... |

AFAIK. The string was still there when I go back to check.
AHah! That's it. The string stays there until I restart RT, but it won't work until I save.
Bit different from most programmes' dboxes...but....
Thanks

My attempts were apparently doomed from the start. Yes I had the quotes there.
Thanks |
