smiserg,
many thanks already now for the offer and your help.
Regarding program localization: you can start now as soon as we have the new version it get's incorporated into repository.
Be aware of the fact that 3.0 is still alpha, and therefore there are some strings that are still missing in the language file, so there will be changed in the future.
Regarding the manual: we're thinking right now about switching from OpenOffice versions to docbook source.... bit more complicted to build but much easier lateron to maintain and 'compile' to different output formats like pdf, html, openoffice, word.... and others....
Therefore it probably makes sense to wait a few days there or at least: don't invest too much time in the nice looking, this will change probably, but the translated text is very welcome anyway.... whatever source format we will choose...
Again many thanks and nice evening

smiserg,
Regarding the tool:
I've just noticed there were some strings missing in the russian that are in the english version....
fixed that now for russian... if you take the newest release from the svn repository via svn or via http on http://code.google.com/p/rawtherapee/source/browse/trunk/release/languages/russian then you should have the latest strings all in it..... some in english obviously...
I use WinMerge or UltraCompare, always bit depending on mood, moon phase and actual machine I'm sitting on... my idea is to provide always 'complete' language files with all strings, if needed just in english.... this makes it much easier for the translators....
docbook:
ok, I'll give you a shout....
Thanks already in advance and looking forward to hear again.

If there are the same line constants in both files (in appropriate positions), it looks suitable.

smiserg,
Regarding Winmerge:
what I'm missing is a 'partial line' filter that I could enable to disregard quickly everything behind the ';' sign to see if there are new strings in the files...
.... on this one I'm still working....

smiserg,
thanks for your efforts....
the language file is commited to the repository and a new language pack has been published, including your updated version too.
Have a nice weekend.
