RE: Profiles to change just certain settings not all

I agree, though this is not exactly, for example it's quite annoying when I load profiles, that it cancels for example rotation, croping and some other adjustments I did prior to loading profile.

Also many tasks like for example resizing to certain size employs not only resizing tool but also sharpening and maybe denoising. (but definitely not exposure, white balance and so on).

This is more like tool presets not image profiles.
(It is handy to have tool presets.)

Profiles to change just certain settings not all

I would welcome possibility to make profiles, which won't change all setting but just certain.

When saving profile there should be some dialog with checkboxes which will allow to select which categories of adjustments should be saved to profile and which not (White balance, Exposure, Highlights/Shadow, Channel mixer etc.) This would enable us to build specialized profiles for different purposes (sharpening profiles, exposure compesation profiles, Resizing profiles, lens correction profiles, denoising profiles etc.).

Auto load profiles depending on camera

I would welcome if we can have auto load profile function depending on source device (camera). Would be helpful for loading color profiles and other adjustments made typically for certain cameras.

Good idea.

Perhaps a 'Recently edited' image history browser options would tie in well with this.

I shoot to PEF. It's more practical because it's smalled due to compression.

RE: Local contrast problem

I get this sort of problem just in a few pictures - perhaps less than 1% of all the Pentax pictures edited in RT.
Do you use PEF settings on your cameras and then convert to DNG, or do you use DNG setting on your cameras and then just compress with the adobe Converter?
