Thanks to the detailed bug reports several bugs have been fixed.

Bug fixes compared to beta2 are:

• dcraw updated to version 8.89
• improvements in internalization
• an exif saving problem in jpeg output
• corrupted saving of large tiff files
• problems with preview zoom when images of the same size are opened
• corrupt output color profile in the saved images
• incorrect permissions for the "converted" directory under linux
• auto and spot wb for sRaw and linear dng fixed

Known issues:

• still no solution on the library dependency problems under older linux distributions

Based on the bug reports of the users many annoying bugs have been discovered and fixed. There are still some more, but we think it's time to make beta 2 available for the public.

Bug fixes compared to beta1 are:

• multiple thumbnails for the same image bug fixed
• color propagation is back! However the luminance method is used instead in the file browser.
• proper rights for the "converted" folder under linux
• history panel cannot be resized after hide/restore fixed
• send to editor now does not freeze if the app path in invalid
• duplicate list of extensions in the preferences fixed (you have to delete your old options file!)
• tiff and rw2 extensions added to the default list of extensions
• color values under the mouse pointer are now correct
• directory browser now does not forget its width
• linear dng/canon sraw is now supported
• IPTC data in nef files is now detected/parsed
• several bugs fixed corresponding to the multiple selection in the file browser

The development team is happy to announce the beta version of RawTherapee 2.4. The aim of this release is to give possibility to the users to test and report back problems and bugs. Translators can start translating new language strings to make RawTherapee as multi-lingual as possible.

We hope to have a short beta cycle and try to release the final version as soon as possible. There are many-many changes under the hood. We have all the major building blocks done, so -- for the next version -- we can start a new, workflow-oriented GUI re-arrangement and also to refine the image processing algorithms.

This is a bugfix release. RawTherapee now has a new icon (thanks to Hert).

The main changes are:

• Tone curve and Luminance Curve editors implemented
• Sharpening now entails much fewer sharpening halos
• Improved response to color boost and luminance curve adjustments

• Auto white balance algorithm has been replaced
• A new (faster) demosaicing algorithm, HPHD, is available and it is now the default

The long awaited version 2.0 arrived. It is fast, while the image quality is the same as before. It runs on weaker CPUs and it requires less memory that version 1.1. The main changes are the following:

• Completely rewritten, blocking-free asynchronous GUI
• Multi-core processor support
• Background saving
• Change history with bookmarks
• Dual view: full image preview + 100% crop view
• Highlight recovery tool
• Chromatic aberration correction tool

Furthermore, we have now a forum and -- most importantly -- a donation page :-)

I released the fifth preview release of Rawtherapee 1.1. Thanks for the many test reports, it is getting more stable every day.
I also provide a linux version from this release. This is a kind of release candidate, if there are no major problems, this will be the final 1.1.
I already started to work on version 1.2, which has three aims: SPEED, SPEED and SPEED :)

The third preview of Raw Therapee 1.1 has been released. Fuji SuperCCD cameras and Nikon D1X are now supported.
The only thing missing from the final 1.1 version is fixing a bug that causes crash on some machines while loading the thumbnails.

The second preview of Raw Ttherapee 1.1 has been released. It has new features like cropping, rotating and lens distortion correction, and many bugs fixed.

Thank you for the many-many excellent ideas you sent me by email. Please don't stop, send me feature requests and bug reports to the following email address: gabor at rawtherapee dot com. I read all the mails, although it happens that I don't have time to reply to everybody.

I recently realized that the exif handling library I use (exiv2) has a GPL license (I tought it is LGPL), so I had write an own exif library. It should work fine, although it does not copy the Makernote from the raw files to the jpg files, and also parsing the .crw files are not supported yet.
So what is missing from the final 1.1 version? The most important is the Fuji support (maybe D1X support, too), and fixing the bugs you find.
